I decided to go with the black background for better light control.

I wore black to make sure I can separate dark clothing from the background.

Will use higher camera angle and appropriate cropping. This was just a lighting test.

Of course the foreground clutter won't be present in the final shot.

For the Foundation board, is a small riser of some sort available to create a third row? Just big enough for three or four people. That would help keep the photograph from being so wide. Actually some 8-inch concrete blocks would do the job. Fabric would protect the floor.
